  • description: I accidentally fried a Lenovo ThinkCentre M90q by using the wrong PCIe riser from an older Lenovo Tiny system. The motherboard let out the magic smoke, and the failed part turned out to be a tiny MOSFET that cost about 50 cents. In this video I try to repair the M90q, replace the MOSFET, test whether the motherboard still works, and compare a few Lenovo Tiny models for homelab use, including the M720q, M70q, and M90q. If you are building a small homelab, adding 10Gb networking, or using PCIe risers in Lenovo ThinkCentre Tiny PCs, hopefully this saves you from making the same mistake. https://store.untrustedsource.com/
